Power facilities under attack in Ukraine
The country's power facilities have come under escalating strikes in the past few days

Overnight, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have led to electricity outages in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Several individuals were hurt while residents in eastern districts were plunged into darkness and dealt with problems to drinking water, according to city officials.

At the same time, a seven-year-old child was lost their life in a distinct aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southeastern part, as reported by area administrators.

Moscow has escalated strikes on energy facilities over recent weeks, while the country's government has demanded "real steps" from partner nations to exert influence on Moscow.

"The necessity is not superficial actions but decisive action - from the America, the EU and the Group of Seven - in delivering protection systems and enforcing penalties," he wrote in a public message.

Authorities reported that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and over thirty rockets attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, characterizing such assaults as "premeditated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as winter approaches.

Government representatives said Russia was "launching a major assault" and repair crews were laboring to repair systems.

A barrage of missiles struck energy infrastructure and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Multiple people wounded in the strikes on the city have been taken to hospital, according to city authorities.

National leaders told journalists that Moscow was purposely seeking to demolish the national power system, with assaults already affecting gas facilities.

Officials stated utility staff and government agencies were preparing for more assaults.
